Immunisations 2019

Meningococcal ACWY Immunisation Programme

Meningococcal group C disease is a rare but life threatening disease that occurs mainly in young children and young adults. It is important that all 18 year olds including students  are protected against this disease.

Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

National Shingles Immunisation Programme

Shingles is a debilitating condition, which occurs more frequently and tends to be more severe in older people.

We plan to offer routine vaccinations to people aged 70 to 79 years old to provide protection against shingles. The efficacy of the vaccine declines with age and so it is not reccommended for people aged 80 years or older.

Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Pertussis pregnant women Vaccination Programme

There is a lot of whooping cough around at the moment and babies who are too young to start their vaccinations are at greatest risk. Expectant mothers can help protect their babies by getting themselves vaccinated against whooping cough from 16 weeks of their pregnancy. Expectant mothers must be vaccinated for each pregnancy.

Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Pneumoccocal Vaccination Programme

This vaccination is offered to people aged 65 year and over. People will normally receive this vaccination once in a lifetime.

Please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment with the Practice Nurse.
